thanks buddy, if you look closely you'll see it's a normal internal overflow box but it's just very narrow (about 10mm), it can handle enough flow, is very silent and it doesn't take up much space in the tank...very very cool! punk! its all so nice and shiny! one thing though, i'm really confused as to how that overflow works, whats the story with the extra pane of glass etc?
sweet! sounds like an engineer thought of itthanks buddy, if you look closely you'll see it's a normal internal overflow box but it's just very narrow (about 10mm), it can handle enough flow, is very silent and it doesn't take up much space in the tank...

yup, i think they'll both have a ball valve to control the level inside the overflow box & both will just go into the 1'st sump chamber...That overflow looks very interesting, does the water go from there directly into the sump? Any ball valves on the way down? Very unobtrusive and no need for durso's.
I hear the next Gauteng meeting is at your spot![]()
perhaps one day when i have some corals to show forthanks dude i can't waitVery Nice !!!
Looking forward tio seeing this tank get wet![]()
adriaan says that it's actually pretty easy to scrape stuff out of there...Very cool punk.Nice overflow. It will be very difficult to get anything out there
Nice present btwChristmas is still far away

yeah adriaan will seal them once the cables are through, luckily the glass is 24mm so there should be enough space for silicone to seal it nicely...Hi Punk. I have noticed that the holes are lower than the overflow so that would need to be sealed well otherwise water will flow between the cables and glass. Are you guys going to use anything specific to seal that up.Cool![]()
uncle George sent me a lucky packet today!
i don't want to run them like this...
but like this, i'll see how it goes but i want to try get a wider, less laminar flow, hopefully similar to the vortechs... any of you tried this before?

i was thinking of running 2 x 6201's on the sides and 1 (or perhaps 2) 6101 pointing towards the water surface in the middle, how would that be for flow?
cheers

Punk, if there is no protection over the blade, aren't you a little worried that you might end up with Sushi? we do a mod over in the UK that is to cut every other bar in the safety cover, this helps to increase the flow without losing the safety cover totally.
