Polario ML22 - 22000lph flow pump review

jaco my way of thinking is if i deflect the flow off closley surrounding rockwork it will be fine in my 1.2 untill i get the 1.5 built.. i am also a little concerned about the noise as they are not cheap pumps and i feel they should be completley silent but then again neither is my vortech.. i have actually had friends reach for their cellphones when the pump changes frlo pattern as it is quite noisey.. any chance of an audio on the noise of the polario to let us hear if its really worth making a fuss over?

Just for interest sake ...my noise just disapeared after a few weeks very quite now:thumbup:

thats positive.. wonder if its worth taking the plunge? i just dont get as much random flow with only having one vortech.. its either 2 or sell the one and get a polario...:whistling:

mmm considering trading in my vortech for one of these puppies, wonder how it will do on a 1.5 x .700 x .600 im sure the flow could be subdued bu rockwork etc...

any comments?
Les, stay away from this pump until all issues with noises on the controller are sorted out. I got a second controller and it is making a terrible noise, now awaiting the third controller.

thanks mek, thats pretty much what i was looking for.. do you rate it worth selling my Vortech?

Hey Les. I know how you feel about this!!! You dont want to pay all that money for a pump that makes *** in the tank!!! It's like buying a Ferrari that has a hole in the exhaust or with squecky brakes!! :(

I mean, for me its either a Polario or two 4000 l/h pumps on two cls manifolds... this would set me back about R1800 in total... rather than a polario - BUT STILL, I think the Polario concept is very good, only unfortunate thing is the noise.

Nhaaa, this sounds like a recipe for my wife to hit the tank with a 10 pound hammer!!! I've decided to pass on the Polario for now... Thanks Mek...

Les, IF you decide to go for it, keep us updated on whether it works well...

Jaco as far as I know they make a smaller one, I think 11000lph but it's not available here.

Geez that realy suck....so do anyone know when they will be sorting out the problem....is people going to be refunded or will they swap out with a new one or if they improved on thr product people can change thr old one...

Mekaeel well i do hope they do...

People paid good money for thr pumps...

Im planning of buying 2 for my new setup so i do hope they sort things out soon

disapointing as this would be the solution from astetics and flow. seriously hope they can sort it out as its cost effective aswell..

Les, IMO a better way would be a wavebox. Just brilliant, the nano has a power rating of 10W! can you believe it? The only hurdle is the price, but these are expensive too and if your tank can handle it or if you build a tank to suit it you cant go wrong man

Guys, stick to Tunze. I have 2x 6201 in my tank, awesome flow, easily controllable and very flexible. They use minimal power and make zero noise.

I'm definitely going to wait until I have the cash to add more Tunze, rather than compromise on cheaper alternatives.
