just as a direct comparison ive just brought a 6025 for my nano here in norway, that set me back just under R800.

those are great prices for great equipment, thanks for keeping the prices as low as possible for masa members george
 
Have a question about tunze, do you need the controller to use the pumps or not?

if you can use the pump without controller what diffrence is there in using it without controller
 
George if i may (but correct anything you dont agree with)
you can use them without the controller. they give great flow and by bouncing the streams of water off the glass, each other and LR, you can create a degree of random flow. But that way you have a static (to a degree) situation, and creating properly chaotic flow (what we strive for) is difficult.

however with the controllers you have pumps switching from high to low output, alternating agianst one another and the flow is far more random. that leads to better detritus removal, better water quality and better environment for the whole system.

controllers dont make the pumps work.....they make the pumps work better. In my view anyway.

in my view tunze still produce the best quality of flow of any pump around
 
Uncle George, is it possible to bring a 6025 to Thursdays meeting? If the size is fine, I might take it for my nano ;)

my applogies, i stand corrected. i was actually thinking of my larger tank and not the nano, more than one or two tunze nano streams would not be necesary in a nano and thus no need for a controller

Johan apart from what the guys have said so far the controlable pumps are electronic and run on 10-24volt power supplies. The non controllable pumps are extremly economical to run for thier outputand range from 2500 lt to 13,000 litres
And naturally they all have standard magnet mounts, which gives you a 180 degree pumping arc.

The advantages are.
1. They are so versatile that you can virtually create any type of flow in your aquarium your imagination can think off.
2. They are very much more economical on electricity as you can controll thier power output.
3. There is no other pump on the market that can do what these babies do.
4. They can run on a 12v battery even solar cells in case of power failure (saftey connector 6105.500)
5. Spares are always available
6. Best after sales service in the country and much more.

so ur saying that those without controllers can be run off a battry? If thats true its an awesome way to go when power fails

johan only the electronic controlable pumps can run on battery as they
use a 10-24 volt power supply.

You would also need a saftey connector (6105.500) which switches between battery and power adaptor.
 
Goerge could u work out a price for me and maybe pm it too me, im not sure what pump but a controllable one, lets say the smallest one there is. I want a price on the pump and a controller for it.
