well i decided to upgrade my 4ft (250lt) tank to a 5ft (672lt)
so i collected the tank and i am now doing a fresh water test for about 3 day to see if there are any leaks.

full system
670lt 1400 x 640 x 750 DT
250lt sump (dsb)
8 x t5 55w globes
TS2 skimmer
600 x 700 ATS

i am planning to have no wave makers in the tank and i am going to do a closed cercuit return with 2 x 4000lt pumps.

the overflow will be a skinny overflow the complete right side of the tank 20mm wide

We want regular updates!!!

Are both the 4000ltr pumps retunring water to the tank or is one of them on a closed loop system?

Why not have a separate pump after the DSB feeding the cz and refugium.

By the looks of the drawing, the return pumps arent closed loop and all the water they pump on will leave the tank via the overflow??
if this is the case, youll get 8000lt/hr flowing through your sump. That sort of flow rate over a DSB will render it useless.

in that case i have a very wrong idea of a closed loop system, now i will need some help with this please

closed loop is when the overflow is connected directly to the inlet of the pump and then water is fed straight back into the tank.
You can still have closed loop, but youll need one pump to run circulation to the sump/dt then more pumps running on a closed loop.
