Dream Cube becoming reality

Hey Guys
i just recently moved and starting to get settled
so i thought i would start a thread on new cube as it has been along time coming
first specs

DT size :
1200 x 1200 x 550 (water level at 500)
glass 12mm base with 10mm sides completely euro braced
with C2C overflow with 2 x 50mm outlets

sump :
is in 2 sections
1st 800 x 800 x 500 devided into 2 sections 800 x 330 skimmer chamber
2nd 800 x 470 DSB at 150mm
flowing over into 800 x 300 x 400mm
devided into 2 sections
1 for floss and other return chamber

giving a total of 1070 ltrs (excluding displacement)

Equipment :
1 x 3000 lts/h return pump (looking to replace in long run)
1 x lifetech ap 3500 2500 ltrs/h return pump
4 x sun sun 3000ltrs/h vibration pumps ( looking to replace as soon as cash allows for vortech or tunze )
1 x sun sun 5000 ltrs/h vibration pump
1 x reeftek TS3 skimmer with opti 3000 pump
1 x DIY carbon reactor 2 chambers looking to run phos media in secon chamber later on

Lighting :
8 x T5 24w tubes
all sylvania 4 Aquatar 10k
and 4 Coralstar 14k
1 x 150w MH DE 14k

Stand is being made this week hopefully
which is made from 38 x 38 x 3mm mild steel red oxided and then painted in Hammerite Black

I am plannig to start building tank this week and will post pics of progress
as i know how we all want pics :lol:

looking good dean. fantastic looking hood and sounds like a stunner of a system..

i see no reason why the 24w T5 tubes wont punch a .500mm deep tank.. they are made in smaller sizes for the very reason , to be used on smaller in lengthe tanks not necessarily shalower....

i have used them on .700mm tanks in the past with no ill effect.. quality of bulb is important to consider for maximum illumination though

thats why i place the tubes in that order i know they will work well
