WoW.....finally bra....looking sleek n sexy, in other works F#*Kn moooi :D ..... How did u plump out of overflow, do you have a t-joint with end cap and hole drilled for release od air and gurgling sound will stop

I Hate to be the bearer of bad news but your overflows are plumbed incorrectly, you will never get it silent unless u take apart and redo with external durso, aka t-joint ,small pipe up and downpipe to sump,u can put end caps on and drill a small hole, it releases presure and will be silent

I just scrolled up and saw pics and saw its plump closed from top to bottom so air is looking for place to exit hence the noise

Or you could insert a piece of air pump tubing into the pipe and let it suck air thru it thats what I did

Thanks for all the comments guys...
@STC-1000 and @Fred d ,thanks for the visit tonight, always great chilling n chatting with fellow reefers.

So we inserted some airline tubing and it really didn't help much so going to redo overflow plumbing this coming weekend and add T-joints for the durso.

Guy who was suppose to come hand my light tonight did not pitch, so anyone here in cpt that can suspend light for me? This weekend or if anyone knows of anyone please let me know...will need to half empty tank this weekend and move tank away from wall, then that's the perfect time to suspend light so please guys if these is anyone let me know...I'm too big to get into the roof...shot

ANYONE? or know of anyone who would be able to do it this weekend and not charge TOO MUCH, lol.
please guys, let me know

your water level is also that little bit too high for me.

Just as a test, put in your internal pumps and let it run full last. check that no little wave actions do go over the rim.

2 solutions if it is too high, cut hte upwards elbows a bit shorter, or change it into a slimline overflow.
Check out Dallas' Orca Orphek Ocean - Page 9 - Marine Aquariums South Africa
post 177 for an idea.

+1 on Slimline overflow ,will be even more silent with reverse durso

Water height imo is perfect,I've seen it running with returns and pumps on and no raising of water leve, looks to be pretty stable, but increase in flow may raise, so like the saying goes 'rather safe than sorry'

shot for the advice guys, much appreciated, i do however quite like the water level, have run him will all pump and so, no spilling BUT i will be changin the return pump and that may increase the head so if that happens, i will look at perhaps shortening those elbows

tank has been running since sunday afternoon, so been like 4 days, tank has rock in it and some algeas in sump, gosh the rock must be very dirty, the skiimer is really puling out some serious gunk, this skimmer is crazy i tell you, really works brillaintly, not very quiet, but cleans up well.

water is crystal clear in tank now, everything working nicely except for the noise, which is not a huge issue but want to just do things right from the beginning.

so plan is, saturday, empty tank, redo over flow plumbing to include durso, install a new much better return uplift pump and then see if this new pump causes display to overflow, lol, water level a bit high, if its a problem, will cut elbows inside tank to make them a bit shorter as suggested by the good man RiaanP above. also, have to hang light and will try sort out the scaping

wrt scaping, looking at one island slightly off centre and slight toward the back, going high up witha nice overhang, to create nice placement ares for coral and also keep lots of nice open swimming space for fish to have fun.

space is very limited in my sump, but want to try get some sort of reactor to run rowaphos or so, and also want to have a look at Bio cubes, will go checking out the shops tomorrow afternoon, any advice, help, suggestions, all welcome
