Nadeems cube

nope, make it a overflow box, return, overflow box.

no idea what you are siggesting here???

all 3 returns i have drilled a 6mm hole on the elbow inside tank and inserted a small piece of pipe, so water still drains but sump easily handles the extra water

one small hole supplying water to dry pump and pump pushing water back into other 2 holes on right
?
One big hole, overflow to sump, return to the small hole on the back panel between 2 big holes.
Other big hole supply water to dry pump, returning to 2 small holes on the right.

Ohhhhh i seeeee....so you reckon then that one 50mm overflow to sump is enough? also, by doing this, it will increase the head height in DT by a lot wont it.

ok this is like a whole new plumbing setup now lol. but i like it. do you think the one Sicce 5800lt/hr will provide nice flow here?

used as a closed loop pump, basically no head height only elbows that can restrict the flow.

That would be 2700L/h per outlet maximum.

The trick will be to be able to have something in place to prevent snails etc to enter the closed loop.
Will build the left outlet as slimline overflow box, as in the picture I previously gave you. Then the return (as is). Then on the right outlet, build a box that looks like the overflow box. But instead of a solid glass piece in front. Use 15-20mm wide glass strips with a 2-3mm gap between them. So the water gets sucked into the gaps. Weekly maintenance would be to move a toothpick or toothbrush over the gaps to clean them.

TO BE HONEST, i am not keen on this slim overflow box idea that you have used.
an easy quick way would be to put eggcrate in the 50mm elbow and then a nice strong thick filter mat on top of it, that way, nothing will get into the CLS except water. if water level becomes a problem, then i will cut the elbow a little shorter. you think it would work?

Bra, you getting in way over your head .... .... Just slap in some powerheads and u left stress free, get some tunze nanostreams, they leka cheap and mount them on black panels, u will hardly see them, this CLS system is gna hold u back and cause many trials and errors and with that comes unnecesary spending

you think it would work?
nope, it will block very quickly.

CLS systems are nice. But you need to know what will happen in regards to flow. And for that you need experience with CLS systems. Their pumps also use more power.

Yeah, CLS can and do look neater. Less wires in the tank, no powerheads visible.

Mp10 will work....trust me, there are many guys running mp10 on 10ml, all u do is were u gna place mp10,cut away the black perspex and u sorted, MP10 is half price of MP40 and it will work perfectly on a 600cube...

Take into account you also gna have the 3 uplifts for variable flow, so mp10 on back pane set on reef crest mode... No way you can go wrong bra ...

Ps.. U dnt need the wifi mp10 so just get the ES and u save an extra few 100s

tank has been running nicely, have been getting some brown algae here and there but nothing major else.
with regard to flow, i have done the following, the small hole between the 50mm overflows is not feeding a sicce5800 pump and being returned to one of the holes on other pane so this pump is running as proper cls, laying in sump to decrease noise a bit. atman 2500 is return pump pulling from sump and returning on remaining hole on 2nd pane.
these 2 pumps giving very good flow, but not varied flow so added an mp10 to the side where the overflows are, getting great flow in the tank now. want to get some bio-cubes going, got the cubes, just need to get it in.
livestock is my 2 clowns i brought over from my boyu, got some nice new sps pieces and 2 snails, one large hermit crab and 5 tiny dwarf hermits.

will post some pics soon

Missing Fish - so got home the other night after work, checked the tank, all looked good, the 2 clownfish i have in the tank rushed to the glass to say hi, all was good, then we tnt o shoer and have supper, then came back to feed the clowns and ONE CLOWN WAS MISSING, the slightly bigger one, just missing, i checked everywhere, inside the tank, outside the tank, in the plumbing, in the filter socks, in the sump, thinking he jumped out and hopped around, i moved couches and looked all over, NOTHING, until now, NOTHING.
What in the world could have happened to my clown? really upset as i loved this pair of clowns, will be giving the single clownt hats left to a friend of mine as he has 3 clowns and i dont like to see this guy alone now.he could not have beene eaten by another fish as there are no other fish in tank, there are no anenomes or lps, only a few sps, about 3 sps pieces, 2 large and 2 small frags. and there are hermit crabs and snails.

anyone have any idea what could have happened to my clown?:(

furthermore, i will be having a guy over this weekend to redo scaping as i am really not happy with scaping, then will hopefully be getting 2 AWESOME fish, will update soon with pics also.

look out for this guy, this was the cause of my mysterious LS disappearances

oh shucks, how do i find a little guy like that man, maybe i must scope the tank out at night with a torch. will keep a lookout, am rescaping big time this saturday so maybe i will finds something then.

mistaorange, shot bra, its worse when you have no idea, cant even find the body
@Visser, its coming along well bud, still not happy with scape though, got more rock and will be doing rescape this saturday, then im done, not much in tank, but expecting 2 nice fish soon. have some sps already and they are doing well, except for one brilliant colony i got from @STC1000 , it fell off the rock, and when i got to it, it was turning white, eventually died completely, sad one.

thinking of getting a small cannister filter and hooking it up to the sump to some phoshate remover and maybe purigen or carbon, what u guys think of this idea?

Canister filters work really well until you have to open them to replace the media... Then it becomes a mess!!!
Rather just get yourself some Seachem phosguard, put it in a media bag & drop it in your sump's return chamber. It works just as well.
Otherwise, just get yourself a small media reactor. (the reef octopus ones work well) & drop your GFO in there.

why do you say this? isnt it simple to open up cannister and clean?

so just put some phosphaguard in overflow, add 2 fish yesterday and gave away my 1 clown, added flame angel and purple tang, oh how i love these 2 fish, will post pics soon
