@Mouse Well HELLO there stranger LOL ja ja finally decided on what to keep.Sheeshhhhhhhhhhhh, it's worse than waiting for a bus in the rain in London- and they at least arrive every 20 mins or so.
Even a London Underground tube strike is quicker........
Thanks old manTake your time bud, it's your tank and in the end you need to have a tank that is good for the inhabitants and good for you!
My salinity has dropped quite a bit to 1.018 so I topped up with saltwater, will do a WC later to bring it up more. Doubt that was the cause.
well, either spores or bacteria dying due to low salinity
It's a ts2 but it seems to be running fine now.
Any way to sort that problem out? Should I raise the skimmer?LOL thats one of the skimmers I have found this very problem with as well as the TS1 due to same design and then also the old boyu skimmers and a few others. They build up pressure inside which keeps the bubble level low then when that pressure reaches a point where it is exhuasted then the pressure inside is low and the bubble level rises on its own. I have found in most cases that this is when the skimmer is close to being set right.
But I still think your problem was high nutrients cause by macro alg spores
Also I have kept pipe fish in the past and they are great. I have often had good results on feeding them some of the high protein coral foods which come in those small jars. Cant rem the name but when feeding the corals the pipe fish seemed to all come out and have a chow. Just observe the current and how it distributes the food around the tank. Not to fast and not to slow ether.
Enjoy

Could have been macro spores as at the time most of the macro was dying off.
Had experience with ponies so wanted to give the pipes a chance now maybe a pony or 2 as well.
It already has a hole in the lid... 6mm to be exact...
Thanks old man
