Slow response
Took the plunge and have gone back to my original plan (the one that I paid for and the guy disappeared) and got 90cm x 90cm x 72cm in 12mm glass.
Already getting second thoughts, working in the tank is going to be interesting, will have to design a step with an overhead pulley to get into the tank.
On a 1m stand, so will have to keep my hands out of the tank in general
But there is space! No more measuring mm to get stuff into the back of my Boyu :yeahdude:
If it fitted in your car it shouldn't be an issue getting it up those stairs
That stairwell looks narrow & steep so to get it up will be mission...
In most countries my car is used as a hearse. Was a tight fit, another good thing about a cube.
The biggest issue is the door frames. It can not get through upright so have to be turned on its side. Even then, the door frames are 80cm, but the doors can not open fully, so sitting with 76 cm at a slight angle, very tight fit and the tank is bloody heavy.
The stairs got 3 turns, of which 1 is a 180deg one. May just take it around the house, but then it is a long trek up a winding stoney, stepped path and two doors. Will have to move some furniture first to get in.
More problematic is the stand, it is a 90cm x 90cm x 100cm so can not get through a door frame. Will have to hoist it up two patios to the top floor.
May just have to get some professional help or have a big party.
You got a very nice backround for your tank...
Yip, will gets lots of indirect natural sun as well. A bit worried about temperature in the afternoon in summer. Got two chillers lined up, thinking of tinting the front sliding glass doors to give some protection.
very cool, i work in Camps Bay and Have the morning Free if you need a hand
Thanks for the offer, manage to coerce my sons into helping me to get it into the garage, will leave it there for now until I have done a bit more planning.
