Hi Guys,
My purple tip does not want to open at all.
I bought a Rose Bubble tip and he is all happy where he is he even split in 2weeks since he is in the tank.
What can I do to get him to open??
Hi Pardus..I'm not clued up on Nennies but I have read in Threads that a stressed Nennie will/can split..so I'll bet and say you'rs is NOT happy and that's why it's split...I'm saying that as it's introduced into a new Tank and has showed no signs of opening...I also believe you might have a "chemical warfare" going on in you'r Tank...I'll suggest you Test you'r water parameters as the Experts will most likely be asking that so that they have a better understanding of you'r Tank and then be in a better position to help you..I also noticed you'r Tank is 7 months...9+ months is basically the accepted norm but not sure if it also strickly applies to a RBT as I believe they are "easier"...
My parameters are fine exept nitrates are about 25-50?
Lighting is a Reeftek Unit with 2x 150DE Halite 14000k with 2 Actinic T5's
Have the anomone for about 2months then I desided to buy the rose tip to house the maroons.
It opens at occattions but look like a carpet when it is open.
Do not know??
Load pic but does not show in here???
Loss of tenticles generally means the anemone is starving, try to feed the anemone regularly every second day or so with small pieces of fish, prawn, shrimp etc.
Ok thank you but I put the BTA in because the Purple tip doesn't open enough for the maroons to house in it. Will see which one can resease the easiest...
I will choose the BTA??
that would be the wrong reason for buying an anemone, clownfish do not need them to live in, i would also check that the clownfish is suitable for that anemone, not all are compatible with each other
