Just need to know whether your fry ever looked like they are 'jumping' up and down. Not all of mine do it, but some literally hop up and down and it seems to be tiring them out as every now and then one is lying down and later gets up again. This is really worrying me. Don't know what to do about it. If you could give me advice I'd really appreciate it. Regards Maddy

Hi Dallas, I see someone referred me to you regarding cardinal fry. Need some advice, would you be able to assist?

      Hi @dallasg

Read a post of yours about setting up a new tank. Point 6 you made was to find a mentor so hoping you can help, I know you are busy setting up a new tank yourself so understand if responses are slow or not at all.
I am wanting to use a bio pellet solution in my new setup.
If the bio pellets are using bacteria as a nutrient export then the system must need carbon, nitrogen and phosphates to live. Bacteria will out compete algae so I am happy with that, but I don't want a system that relies on nutrients as that is the opposite of what I want, as I don't want nutrients.

Also thinking of using a GFO reactor from day one, I don't want phosphates to 'build up' in the calcium carbonate in the tank when cycling. The GFO will release some Iron I believe so think of putting some Cheato in the sump to consume the extra iron and act as a bio indicator for organic phosphate. Will the pellets stop the macroalgea from growing?

      Does the above sound sensible?
