Tok's Red Sea Max 250

What timer are you referring to?

Tok

The one at the top right hand side of the tank. I have the analog timer, I am hoping it might be easier to wire than the digital version. :)

The timer you can see on my tank is the one that came with the ATI Sunpower.
I ripped out the Red Sea timer and ballasts to installed the dimmable components and timmer from the ATI Sunpower Lighting modual.

Now my lights are T5 dimmables.

Today I changed my lamps out and I have decided to give the Red Sea Spec T5 lamps a test.

I'm well surprised at how very similar they are to what I already had but not nearly as yellow as the original RSM T5 that came with the hood.
They are not to blue either and all my corals seem to pop with color and look a lot more natural.

Nice fish, love the orange on thefins! What species is it?

I also bought the reef spec lights, only 3 though :p
Haven't had a chance to install them yet. How are they compared to the ATI lamps you had?

Cheers TeK here is some info on the Tang..

The Bristletooth Tomini Tang, also known as the Tomini Surgeonfish is tan combined with yellow, blue, and white highlights as a juvenile. When mature, the body color solidifies, the tail becomes blue, and the dorsal and anal fins are tipped with a golden-yellow hue. The area above the eyes has small golden flecks while sporting a golden half circle beneath.

A 70 gallon or larger aquarium is necessary to provide plenty of swimming room. It is aggressive towards other Tangs, but peaceful with other fish.
Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae.

Approximate Purchase Size: Tiny: 3/4" to 1-1/4", Small: 1-1/4" to 2-1/4", Medium: 2-1/4" to 3-1/4", Large: 3-1/4" to 5"

I think Red Sea might have a winner here.
Now that my eyes have adjusted to the new lights I think they are much brighter and crisper looking. I'm looking forward to seeing how the corals react to the new lights.
