Sentari's New Tank

leka asking because u have a couple tangs in there that get big - specifically the naso. would love to get 1 for the wife.

I got in same size tank at the moment. 3 tangs and a foxface.
Sailfin, Blond Naso and Chocolate. While small, its ok, but they are growing bigger now. And the tank is too small for them. During December I will sort out my problems. And Convicts can be more aressive than the others. Regal is mellow. should or could work. So I suggest rather drop the convict or sailfin.

Anthias, beautifull, but must be fed often during the day 3 to 5 or more times in small amounts. That is why I do not have them.

3 Clowns, no, warfare, one will be taken out. Rather only 2 of same species. Bigger one will became female when grown.

Gobies, especially sand sifting, only add them when tank is at least a couple of months old. Else they will starve to death. Which species do you have in mind?

Cleaner Wrasse, normally same problem. They starve to death not finding enough parasites on the other fish to eat. Although, I got one, small, 4-5cm and he does eat flakes and nori. I "saved" him out of another tank were it was only him and a yellow watchman goby. To survive, he had to eat flakes. He was in there at least a month, and I got him a month ago. So, so far so good, maybe I'm lucky for a change.

Urchin and starfish, also a bit more mature tank. Else they got nothing to eat. Especially sand sifting starfish as they will compete with sand sifting gobies for food.

The convict is a mellow fish also.

Reason i got 3 clowns. You might remember we were at the same shop and i got given another one. Very small. But i agree with you i will be getting rid of one soon.

You wont belive me if i say all my fish are healthy and not fighting.

I agree with the Wrasse. I have 3 in my tank now. They all eating well.

My anthia's only get fed twice a day. They doing fine.

I'm looking after my brothers fish at the moment.

I honestly think my tank is WAY over stocked and i need to get rid of some fish. I've learnt the hard way in overstocking a tank!

Just a Q. what is the size of your tangs at the moment. Mine used to be fine, but are getting agro with each other now that they are bigger.

Also, in an funny way, overstocking reduced fighting. In a wierd way. I do not promote this. But on overstock, if the dominant fish chase another away from its domain, turning back, there is another one that entered. Then he needs to chase that one. And on and on and on, eventually realizing that trying to keep his space for himself does not work.

Same as at LFS, they have 30 Blue Yellow tail damsels in one small holding tank. And they do not fight. Put 4 of them in your tank and check what happens next week.

Still cooking my rocks bud. Should be done in about a months time then i'll come fetch my corals!

My tangs are getting big. And yes i understand they will fight. I know i need to upgrade or get rid of fish. So i'm stuck in limbo currently about what to do.

Other problem is the lady doesnt want to get rid of everything. So thats another fight i need to have :)

Deon as far as I know, feeding Anthias only twice a day will not do. They do have to be fed 4/5 even six times a day. They may be okay now but a few months down the line they will start dying.
