I know how you feel @CarlosF, however I have seen some really good builds out there, and I have seen some big brand builds that are just not sufficient in terms of lighting.

If I didn't have the resources of a brilliant partner in crime (@GTH, THANK YOU), I would've made my own light unit, in fact I was going too, until we decided that it would just be to difficult.
I feel, if you have the know how, the skills to go diy, DO IT!

Stupid argument @dallasg as we want both.

When you buy a car, do you buy it because it looks good or because it runs? There's a market for both answers so let the guy have is opinion on how crap some DIY units look.

Using the car example again, you would be lying if you say here that you don't care what it looks like, as long as it runs great...

We have had this argument ..... It's not about just the crappy looks its about the entire TCO. Ya the DIY is cheap but I for one would pay the extra for the research aftermarket support and the branding behind it. You can make your own flow pumps too if you want, temp probe simple just go to zakspeed and get the bits, skimmer DIY as well.......

I am not a light specialist, skimmer etc etc neither do I care about how to make it work, that's why you pay people that are specialists to put it together.

DIY lights work, they might outshine other or some commercial products that's cool each for his own.

Using the car example - I wouldn't want to drive a car I built :) I trust seeeeeeee Germans with their engineering :)

Lets get back to the topic - what light unit you use
