Punk's Rimless Reef

Ant. I'm new to your thread and it's looking good. Super neat plumbing. How long has it been running

Please Ant,

we beg for an update!

Nudge nudge, come on bro this waiting's torture, time for a flood of update pictures don't you think ?

Punk, what an awesome tank. I can honestly say you have done things right the first time and made us all very envious. PLease post some pics. Your pictoral has been great so far, keep it up.

Dissapointed weekly visit

I check in on this thread every week and was so hoping for an update. Please give us something. P.S. Where can I get hold of IDOL MARINE. I can't find them on internet, maybe I am just useless. Thanks for the update so far bud, love watching your build.

Hi Alvin! A VERY WARM WELCOME to MASA! Did you start a thread yet, introducing yourself to everyone? And to show off your tank, or share your ideas with us all?

Punk , amazing to see this, the build is really interesting.
any chance of an explanation of the plumbing as it looks like spaghetti from all the pictures.
thanks and waiting in awe to see new pics

Hi man, a flippen mazing!!
Now this is what dreams are made of.
Only started following this thread tonight and its great.
Met Adriaan last year and after seeing one of his builds I decided
That he will do my next project.
Well now that I have my own place Adriaan and I decided on a 2m X 1.5M
Cost is killing me. Think my tank is going to take longer than yours.
But it’s permanent so I don’t mind.
Please!!!!!!! Give us an update. Sooner than later.

really sorry guys

my sump wasn't very practical (too high) and the whole setup was too noisy (considering it's next to my tv in a very small flat)

i was about to give up & sell all to mathewis but after seeing the main display @ idol marine thought i have to get this done

adriaan is almost finished with my new sump, 350mm high, enclosed inlet chamber etc.

i also traded the monster beckett skimmer (powered by Iwaki MD70) in for an internal little bubble blaster, more power efficient and way less noise - gonna make the outlet of the skimmer the same as the water level - also apparently the internal skimmers might make a bit less noise than external versions because the pump is submerged...?

i'm also plumbing my return pump (MD70) to the outside wendy to lessen the noise even more - oh & the CLS MD70 will only be ran when i'm not home

eish i must be the only guy that gets driven mad by a noisy tank - it's not fun having a washing machine going full blast when you're trying to watch a DVD :p

hopefully this time it'll be cool

thanks for the patience

cheers
ant
