I was thinking of my new build today and I decided that I would like to give you guys a glimpse into my life and the system that I have been dreaming about sins I was 16.

Hel that’s a long time to dream.

The slow economy retarded it for some time and I’m still not in a position to go full throttle.
So this thread will probably take some time to finish, hopefully before the end of next Xmas.
I will try to give you weekly updates of all the growing pains and what not’s of building ones dream tank.
Thank for all the support and help I always get from you guys, always nice to have a kind word every now and then.
Hope you enjoy the ride; think it’s going to be hectic!!!
And one last big thanks to Lanzo and Adriaan for their support and having all the patients in handling and exited new builder.

Have you started anything yet or are you still planning?

Sounds great and I'm sure you're propably super excited!

Ok, so this is the story.

Thought I would show you a pic of my first attempt on reef keeping.
I learned a lot with this system, lots of do’s and don’ts.
Thins like the lights that was always in the way when working in the tank, the tank being too deep to work in it, the stand being too high, looked great but what a hassle to work in the tank.
And then the BIGGEST of them all, living in a rental. Not being able to do what you want, drill holes and having enough space to have an easy to work with system.
So this is a pic of my old now broken up system in my old house.

After months of going to endless auctions
I finally found the house that I wanted for a price I could afford. April 2009
As you can see, not wel looked after.

A pic’s of the room I decided to put the tank in.
O jes ,and the poor maid without a room starting the bid cleanup.

And finally a pic of the two rooms.
Filter room on the left and the tank room on the right.
This is on the southern side of the house, so I don’t think I will have problems with heat.

Ok the next step was to decide on a size of the tank.
So I can start building the stand.
Saw the wave motion on YouTube, so I’m going for a 1.5m x 2m x 70cm
Water level will be at 60cm to compensate for the wave motion.

Hi,awesome build, tagging and looking forward to the progress. At last, your dream becoming a reality.

Wow Schaun, you could park a 747 on that stand and I am sure it will hold.
I like the idea of the table lip around the tank. Brilliant! Make it wide enough so you have space to eat etc.
But congrats on an awesome place and look forward to the rest of the build

Now this is awsome!..

Cant wait to see how this tanks looks when its finished..
