true, prob caused by the fact I had a uv filter on and forgot to remove it after shooting bee the other day.

although with a shot like that youre really going to battle to avoide it with such a depth of field

But seriously pretty much every review of canon 100mm, sigma 105mm and nikon 105mm macro lenses says they are basically all the same. The nikon has VR and you pay for it unfortunately. The only other difference I've found is that the canon one always shows f2.8 on the body even when it's not, the nikon one shows the actual aperture. So the question is, is VR worth 4k on a 105mm lens. I kinda doubt it but my hands are pretty shaky and I'm sure it would help when "chasing" fish.

RORY!!!!!!!! Does this look like the photography forum to you?:offtopic:

WTF is this ?

Immmme... one or maybe two serious contenders posted previously IMO. Lots of good subjects though.

Mods: can we have a sort of possible knock out contender type of thing. Post current contenders and then new entrants. Somewhat tricky i suspect. :)

Yes, what we will do is have a few polls with 5 or 6 photo's on, the top 2 (or whatever) will go through to the 'semi-finals', until we get to a stage where we have about 20 pics or we take the 12 most voted for pics, or something to that effect :p We'll work out the finer details in July.:)

i guess id get craped on for waiting till july to post a stack of pics for you mods to plough through ?
Go for it:yeahdude: I think i should borrow a decent camera and have a couple of cracks of it all i might get away with something half decent :) do you guys take all these pictures with a tripod or anything?

ah man. i love potters angels! just wish they were more adaptive to tank life.
have had 2 brought in. both never made it...

Please vote here as to which type of calendar you would like, thanks. What calendar do you want? - Competitions

If I may suggest, depending on the size of the calendar, we would need a minimum pixel size for the photos. A 640 x 480 size photo just won't be good enough for a calendar print, regardless of how nice the actual photo is.

Guess we need to sort this out before we post too many more small pics...

Hennie

i think most people will have the original image before it get resized down to be uploaded here. if not then there really is no point in posting the smaller image as it wont be usable.

Hennie, i should think most of the usable images will be in the original format so printing shouldnt be too challenging

Does it have to be pics that I've taken myself? A friend of mine took some pics of my tank (he wanted to try out a new camera) and said that I could use them.

Is there a limit as to the amount of photos that we may submit?
100 000 000

That's fine. As long your friend doesn't mind us using them.

All photo's have been moved to this thread - Pics for calendar. - Competitions

Keep it coming guys :)

Just a small reminder that if one of your pics is selected then we will need the full size original of that pic for printing purposes, so please don't delete your original pics. Thanks.
