MistaOrange Strikes Back

howdy bud, remember one thing, diatoms are also part of the normal cycling and maturing of a tank, they will happen. Flow is always good, but the diatoms will always find a place to grow, just give it time, eventually they DO disappear. However, I know how it feels, we like our glass boxes to always look like done up models, with perfect looks the whole time.:p

I do know that the daitoms will go away but I know I need more flow but the duel sun sun pump is way too strong for the cube & have to use the little sun sun pump which I tried to mod by taking every 2nd rib out. My old mad thought I was being stupid by taking the ribs out.

Nice build boet, where's the updated pics? Will like to see the corals

Thanks. Well the corals are recovering as the previous owner never looked after them properly as if they gave up on the hobby. The colours are slowly coming right on the candy canes & favia but the plate is looking really good. Thanks to @459b for looking after them & nursing them back to life. I'll try to take pics tonight & post them on the morrow.

It's probably worthwhile dropping them in temporarily even if they are an eyesore.

I have a 3000l aqubee power head you could use for a while if you need.

I found a snail like critter 2 days ago & took it out because I didn't know what it was but then this morning I saw another one crawling down the overflow, it looks similar to this.

They say it's a Stomatella varia but not sure if it is they also say it's reef safe as it chows algae. Will keep a close eye on the bugger. Will keep searching the interweb foir more info.

It is indeed a stomatella. Leave it be, it is good for your system:)

yeah, awesome snail to have in your system. They can even breed.

They are normally more active at night.

Stomatella are awesome.....I had a few in my new system, and they are indeed breeding (the fact that there are no predatory fish in helps)....there are now loads in the tanks from teeny tiny ones, to big ones....and they keep everything clean....a crew of 5 are just on my frag plugs....keep the plugs nice and white.... :)

I do know this will change when I have to add my sixline in at the end of months....he will just feast on the smaller ones...
