So I get home lastnight & noticed that I have water dripping into my sump from the gate valve. I turned the pump off then put thread tape on the union but it's still dripping. Will have to try something else when I get home. Not a happy chappy:(

Make sure the o-ring and groove are squeeky clean. Lube with a tiny bit of vaseline before you assemble it - it's possible to warp the o-ring as you tighten it.

 I knew I forgot to do something:lol: I forgot the vaseline!!!!

Ok so I've been contimplating on stocking one part of me wants to go with a sps or mixed reef or to go with some thing dear to me & make it an awesome pony tank. I'd like to have both sps & ponies but that would be out of the question as sps like high flow & the ponies like a gentle flow. I do however have a smaller tank with it's own sump at the back but that means the QT has gone to the ponies & would only be able to keep H. zosterae because the tank is just the perfect size for them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

You dont want to overstock the tank so keep it simple with a pair of clowns and a bicolour blenny. For inverts, maybe a cleaner shrimp and a needle urchin?

Sorry, my unit is still broken. Part was supposed to come from joburg last week but hasnt come yet. So ill be buying RO this weekend.

A little update

The overflow & return before I wet the tank last weekend

Tanks wet the hoods on & the MH & LEDs on. Seems to be too much flow so I changed the flow pump after I took the pic but was too cloudy after I moved the sand back so will take pics soon.

Still have to do some scaping as the two large rocks don't have much to play with so I may have to get some more LR for better scaping. Looking forward to stocking the tank but it's only been cycling for a week but will soon.

Decided to go SPS so looking forward to stocking the tank.

Got the fright of my life at 3am this morning, I heard this sucking sound & knew the return was making that noise but only did it when the pump was off. So I jumped out of bed & tripped over the dog & bumped my head against the cupboard then noticed that the power was out. So I went to the DB board & everything was up but saw that the meter had no electricity so I had to get some electricity then all was ok. Didn't notice the blood coming from my head until my old man asked why I was bleeding. I think I'll live but the cut on my head is throbbing like mad but all ok aslong as the tank is ok it's all good.
