Featured System for October 2009 - SunnyX

Thank you all so very much for the warm welcome and congratulations! I was honored to have been selected and I hope you all enjoyed the write up. Its strange, but I never thought I would have friends in SA. I now have a few regular email buddies from SA that I speak to on a regular basis. From all of the setups I have seen, SA really has some of the most knowledge and accomplished reefers in the world.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask them here. :D
heheh, well well :)

im inclined to agree with you too, although your tanks sparked an interesting thread, have a read through here its a testimant to how much masa enjoyed your tank....:)

Why is SA reef tanks so dull? - General Discussions

Having read the TOTM thread twice, and looked at his blog all I can say is a lot of dedication, patience & effort went into this. (Also good photography skills)

Well done on a STUNNING tank......

Very very nice sunny, what a clean, neat and of course colourful system, well done.

Thanks you!

Stunning System.

How often do you replace your T5 tubes?
Thank you! I replace the tubes every 10 months. I am sure I could go for 12 months but I am not comfortable trying it out. I dont want to shock the corals with new bulbs by waiting too long to replace the old bulbs.

What I like about this system is that nothing is ""over done", unlike other systems from the US you normally see on RC. Really neat and well thought out setup Sunny. Congrats

Sunny Your pics are legendary. Your subject matter...well lets just say an epic example of what is possible. Congratulations.

Is Vodka your only carbon source

How long have you been running T5s

Sunny what pump are you using to feed your skimmer- how many lt per hour?

Hello,

I use a MAG5 to feed the skimmer at about 500 GPH.

How long have you been running T5s

Hello and thank you.

Vodka is the only carbon source I am using. I have thought about using vinegar or sugar, but vodka has been working out well. I have been running T5's on this tank since the beginning, about 13 months ago.

Absolutely stunning tank. B.e.a.utifull. Crisp and clear water and awesome coral colours. Well done buddy.

This has always been my inspirational tank..

Well done Sunny, Always a pleasure to look at your masterpiece...

Just one question, your tank is Rimless, your glass thickness is 12mm?
