This is the piece of rock I purchased from Bob the Builder...

What would you say this was?

I got this one as a pcs of live rock as well and after a few months it started to re generate. It's doubled in size in the last year. Not feeding it at all. It was just a long flat with round edges pcs..all the fingers is new growth. No feeding needed.

I have a lot of Fiji rock that have what looks like dead Heliopora, wonder if any of it will become "alive" again.

I have quite a big chunk of this coral but am I correct in saying that it's a encrusting coral? The one I have is on a big piece of live rock and seems to be growing over the rock which leans against my back glass and has started to speed to the glass...will try find a pic..

Yes, it is encrusting, but can also form its own vertical formations as per the pics.

Almost 60% of the LR in my tank is encrusted with heliopora.......and its spreading......lol
