    Hi wouter

    Thanks for the thread.

I have one! and could not ID it up till I stumbled on this thread!

Here is a pic after googling Heliopora!

Here is mine. I am a little worried though, he only showed off his polyps briefly and then I have not seen them in 2 months. But its mantle or the pink soft stuff has grown nicely!

Does anyone know how to care for helioporas?

I've also got some. One large piece and another medium sized piece. They came with my Nano when I bought it. They've always got their polyps out, but never the same section all the time.

At the moment mine is in the Nano, I add some coral food a few times per week. I'm going to be moving it to my big tank soon, sure it will do better there.

:whistling: that awkward moment when u realise the awsum looking piece of 'blue fiji' u just paid ur ass for is actually heliopora. I have one just like that pink one in the googled image..... thought it was just algae on the live rock.....

Am I allowed to say where this can be bought as "live rock" in Brackenfell?

Good quality liverock is mad up mainly of old coral skeletons. Getting a piece that still has live heliopora is lucky.

I have quite a big chunk of this coral but am I correct in saying that it's a encrusting coral? The one I have is on a big piece of live rock and seems to be growing over the rock which leans against my back glass and has started to speed to the glass...will try find a pic..
