Sorry about the dates. I am a new member but have influence with DA and you need to pull rank not play in court. Anyway trying to help. Family is well connected to DA and hoping that we can help.

I can't speak for Marcel, but it would be apreciated!

He is a great guy and always willing to help others!

No problem. That happens when you do, what we call "speedreading".;)
Thanks for your offer to help. Really appreciated.
It is actually a battle that I have to fight not only for myself. If I can win this battle, get my permits and can breed legally marine ornamentals, it will help to take pressure of wild livestock. It will create jobs, not many but at least something. I could then breed picassos, snowflakes, platinums, onyx, etc. locally and more affordable than imported livestock. It could open up the chance that the law will be re-written and others can frag and breed legally as well. Right now it's just not worth it to spend 30,000 Rand for permits to breed some clowns.
The time is running out, we have to develop breeding techniques for other species like dwarf angels, angles, triggers, tangs, etc. before they will be banned for collection.
Otherwise we end up with a tank full of clowns only.

Wish sometimes the "law" and conservation worked hand in hand!
Especially when it comes to breeding and fragging!!
How retarded can the Powers That Be not realize that this is saving our environment!
I THINK IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!!

ok there is more to this than meets the eye, things will change

In Marcel's case there are two issues. One is that he did not have an mariculture right and the authorities deemed him to be breeding commercially. The second issue is that mariculture rights and permits can only be issued to South African citizens. So unless Marcel takes up SA citizenship, he will never be able to obtain a right or permit. I am sure this has made him very despondent and we should not press the mater any further until the laws are relaxed and/or confirmed and changed.
