Hey guys! I was hoping to get a aquarium controller but I don't know which one to get the reef angel seems to force you to buy expensive expansions if you want to fully function. however it seems to be able to do everything once you put in some cash. there's the seneye reef which doesn't really have many features... then there is the apex or reefkeeper, which do you think I should get, I was hoping for one that can manage my lights, dosing, pumps and for e.g. turn off heater if it starts to malfunction and cook my fish. and possibly control other aspects like auto top up. so post your experiences and why someone should choose them over others their features etc.

here's a question list put together to see general capability just answer e.g. question...
p (profilux) yes or r (reefangel) yes

so here we go

1. can it control lights and other applications with timers or sensors

2. does it have top up capabilities or expansions that allow it to do such with probes

3.what parameters can it measure with/withought expansion

4.cost of unit (lite or +)

5.general expandability

6. costumer service and ease of getting help

feel free to add in other controllers and questions ;)

For the Reef angel

1. can it control lights and other applications with timers or sensors YES
2. does it have top up capabilities or expansions that allow it to do such with probes YES has std double float switch and pump time out to prevent over filling
3.what parameters can it measure with/withought expansion 4.cost of unit (lite or +) Std unit has ph expantion OPR and a 2nd ph and salinity
5.general expandability Infinitly expandable
6. costumer service and ease of getting help back up service thorugh TRS and online forum straight from the developers

reef angel seems more complicated...

It comes with a wizzard that will set up the RA exactly as you like with a few clicks of the mouse. Can also be setup on wifi, control your tank from your cell anywhere in the world. pc, andriod or mac
