Guys, I googled myself through such a lot of marine forums worldwide and I have to say that we are here on MASA very spoiled.
The whole forum set up, sub-forums, etc. is way better than on any other forum.
Many forums are having a very senseless index and it takes a lot of time to find what you are looking for.

So, a very BIG thank you to the MASA team. Keep up the good work.

I DISAGREE!! MASA IS the best! ... There are lots of smart guys here and your questions get answered pretty quick. I noticed on even censor central that many question go un noticed

That's what I meant, Dane.

I know! thats why I'm agreeing! Hahaha! :)

I also think the thing that makes MASA so rad is the personal response you get from the community. Its not like the other sites where there are like a trillion members etc, here you really get to have a chat and get to know the different people. And there is such a fantastic body of people that offer their advice and experience freely and without holding anything back. On the whole, its one of the most generous communities I've been a part of - not just with advice but with frags, second hand bits and bobs etc.

So thanks to everyone on masa for being so peachy I guess!

Masa is awesome, the only reason I go to other sites is to check the fish, and coral index. I think if masa had a good fish and coral database it would be perfect.

Did you check out what's still under construction?

Marine Aquariums of South Africa ID Database Index

If that baby is up and running, I think MASA will be the only forum with that kind of information pool.
I suggested to Viper that we should add to the fish index, how to sex the species.
There are quite a lot of species who can be sexed.

and extreemly friendly and helpful.. i have been on zeovit and there is stuff all happening on there of late..

so big up to all the members that make it work..

I think masa is nice for chatting with local reefers but reef central has all the answers

Please, please start with this. Although google is our friend here, a database in a central location would be so nice. Maybe members with SLR cameras for photo's and, ag I know it's a big job, but it would mean so much of us and MASA.

This is a mission and a half, @Rory has been working very hard to get something up and running for us, it is about 95% finished, you can see it here and browse a few marine fish, but bear in mind it is still heavily under construction, the last 5% is the biggest amount of work - MyAquarium online aquarium database - MyAquarium

Holy crap, just to add all species data is quite a mission. Where do you get the pictures from?
But looking good and once it's done it's unique. If there is anything I can help with, let me know, Dean.

I like MASA the best! I come here all the way from Texas! :) But I hear it's not safe to bike there...

Thanks for the link Dean. The database is going to be awesome. Looks like members can upload pictures. If it's ok for them to do so, I would urge all members with good photographic skills to do so.

All the pictures on there come from MASA members.
At the moment you'll see it's mostly just the pictures and names of the fish.

If anyone would like to help with getting a bit more info on there just let me know and I can give you rights to edit the info. (you will have to log in there at least once first)
