What can high TDS cause?

remonetization stage

I think he means remineralisation.:)

High TDS could cause gha.

Hey @CW, I have the same unit, I removed the final stage (remineralisation) and it does have an auto flusher. What I have done is added an extra membrane so that I get higher volume of water and less waste. PM me I have the guys telephone number who services my unit every year, he even calls me to remind me.

had a quick chat to Marco n looks like my unit is more than capable! just need to replace the 3 filters/cartridges... sometimes less is more!
... sure i saw the algae quiver in fear!!
thanks as always!!

I have a waterboy,2xverticals(sediment&carbon),and the membrane on top,had my tds tested, result came out on 6,and the filters are almost a year old now.

you should take out the mineral ball and then test the TDS. This way you can get a "true" reading. As far as i have it (and i could be wrong), the mineral ball puts back minerals into the water making it suitable for human consumption. Its because of the minerals that you get a higher reading.

I guess that if you bypassed the mineral ball you could have got a reading that was way more acceptable.

And in case you ask if the mineral ball has any negative effect, i wou;d say no. I have done quite a bit of researched myself on this topic and could never find any proof that it was bad for livestock or fuel any algae growths.

I believe you dont have any algae problems looking at you pics.

Do us a favour and get the TDS reading of the new filters with and without the mineral ball. t will be interesting.

Ja ive got a di resin that i must still install but dont know where.
Do i just take out the mineral ball one and put the di resin in its place?

Then i mos can use the water for drinking water right?

What i wana do is to do a reading as is. Cos i think i have to replace the bottom filters again.
Cos its almost been a year, i think.

Plus then im gona remove the mineral ball and replace it with a di resin, then test water reading again.

Yes you can, I do, just doesn't taste as "sweet" if you know what I mean.
