The Reef Aquatics IntelliSun LED review

have you noticed any difference on the red or orange colour corals under the light unit

I dont have a lot of red /orange corals in this tank... Only the large chalice coral has some red, & it definitely looks better since adding the IntelliSun!
Other than that... All the sps frags have definitely increased their color "intensity"...

@Visser, awesome write up.

I'm in the process of getting a 800 x 500 x 500 tank made up for me and was wondering if you think I could get away with mounting 1 x 85W unit directly centre over the tank ?

Birkett... Unit should work well. Just try to "centralize" the corals, & do not place any corals in the 100mm zone from either side...

If you want to do a SPS only tank. You would have to get a second unit.
For softie, LPS & some sps tank (mixed reef). One will be enough. This unit has good light penetration because of the central array led, & has good spread as well. (should do good on that size tank.)

Mine was running over a 600x600 tank, & I ran it at 40-50% at most with corals from side to side (LPS & sps) & they all did great!

Has there been any research as to weather anemones can be kept under led ?
I remember reading a while back about them not being able to survive under led due to differences in light wavelength of led compared to t5 and MH

@DeanT , that's a good question, I myself have not experimented in this field. I have however posted your question to my other information sources and this was the responses:

Melody Hoskins-Barker: I have anemone with my Radion

Donnie Dennewitz: I have had a ritteri, 2 bubble tips and a seabe anemone all under LEDs with 0 issues

Ron's Reef: I have 4 different species under diy led

Dave Baldinger: One of my friends has a huge carpet at the bottom of a 150 under LED and it's beautiful.

Martin Martinez I have one under my radion and three under my ai sols.

I will update as responses come in.

Tnx for compliments. So you say that 2x90w will not be good solution?

Hi @Andre@ReefAquatics.

I am in the market for a led light and the pricing on the intellisun is so good!
What size would I need for my cube? It's a 60x60x60 (cm) cube. I currently make use of a oddesey T5 unit with 4 ati globes.
