Good skimmer i have the same one. apparently that black jobby from the air intake doesnt do much but hamper things. Can someone else shed some light on this?

Hi Sentari - that "black jobby on the side" is the "air silencer". And yes - it can indeed be removed. It's a waste to have it.
It just restricts the air flow.

yes it is a semi the dimensions are 43cm x 116 cm x 45cm it is just under 220 liter i think but the fish will be moved to my larger 550 liter tank when it is up and running
