Very glad you are onboard

Thanks for all the good wishes as some people know we have been running for about 18 months and in september we took the VERY big gamble to try to turn a pashion into a living ( something that we all would like to do) its been a big hard road but things are picking up and hopefully we can survive, but at least we are making it affordable for some that otherwize couldnt afford to venture into this wonderful hobbie regards Rick

welcome on board as a sponsor.

welcome!!!

Rick and Sharon are awesome, free advice and great prices! I would highly recommend them and wish them every success in the future!!

me that there must be alot of hobbyist leaving, this is what scares me

That is not something new. Seen many people come and go over the years.

And economy is turning, petrol up tomorrow. Tollfees, electricity... All taking more and more out of your budget. A hobby, does not matter what is after all a luxury. And when things go tight, that is the first thing that you have to let go. Missing a couple rounds of golf.

There's more to just the affordability thing. Eishkom and loadshedding has played its role in this too. None of us enjoy the power outages and the prospect of losing a tanks inhabitants has added to the selling off of equipment.

What is more interesting to me is the absolute annihilation of value regardless of what equipment you have once you have bought. I note with interest the many full systems offered at very reasonable prices that are very seldom sold as a unit. Not a hobby for sissies.

Marine equipment looses more value than a car.
Do not expect to get back at all what you put into the cost of hardware alone.

Secondwave prices are reasonable. They can help a lot of newbies entering the hobby with their first "training" setup. Does not need to be perfect. You got so much too learn. Start with an affordable setup. And later get your dream setup after you realized what you want from your tank.

I've bought a couple of things from Rick - and I'm a VERY happy customer!
The tank that I've bought from him looked like new - and he was very helpful with advice etc.

Just the way he treats his lifestock will make that I will always go back there!
