Neil's 3ft Frag Tank Adventure

at this stage i have 2 HUGE pincusions... so one of them will be one of the stater subjects then i also have a big sinulara which needs to be cut back

basically need space for LPS and SPS in my main DT

Will see how those fare and take it from there !

nothing new at the moment, just the sump setup and cycling at this stage.

Well a HUGE thank you to Dallas for all his help last night....... The sound of a tank being drilled has the be one of the worst sounds out there, but it worked out very very well!!

Hopefully today i will get enough time to pick up some plumbing odds and ends and can plumb the top tank in soon

the sump is cycling nicely !!

hey!

anytime, get the plumbing done yet?

Hey Dallas,

ja got the overflow plumbed in last night, just waiting for the silicone to set, tonight i will set up the Durso and complete the plumbing into the sump.

i did take pics, but left the camera at home!

top up working very well on the right.

Salt ready to be put in,

need to get 20mm elbows for the return pump and bits n bobs for the durso.....

then it on to the diy lighting !

so what do you guys think ?????

looks good Neil, just one possible problem, bit difficult to see the angle of the pipe coming down from the tank, will the water flow not cause the sand in your DSB to be blown around?

thanks guys

Ighty, I was also worried about that but the pipe is adjustable, so i will move it, failing that i will put a deflector plate of sorts into the sump !! Can only really see once i put the salt in over the weekend!!

cool, was just thinking too, perhaps let it poor into one of those "stocking" type filters 1st, like some of the Tunze skimmers have, it will help in keeping the water quality, just that I think you will have to clean it daily, but then again, I suppose at least you know its doing what it was design to do.....

looking good mate

thanks for the compliments gents !

At this stage i have 1 x54w T5 and 1 x 150wMH in the gaurage earmarked for this project, i may add another 54W later on !
