You are progressing well and the equipment is good quality. I hope you find those lights and that you sort the filtration so we can see the tank wet but one thing at a time.

Filtration? Not so sure about it yet. Will see first what all can fit inside the cabinet.
Sump will be made from an old 600x400x400mm tank. I want to put a lid on. No splashing allowed inside the cabinet.
RO water canister has to stand on top of the sump.
Another things is, I will not have any wires from pumps or heaters submerged. Never do that again.
The controller is a standard industrial temperature controller which allows me to set the temperature and keep it exactly there. No fluctuations downwards.
The most time consuming thing will be the aquascaping. Little footprint in the substrate, but plenty of surface in the column. Also caves and some flowerpots have to be ingtegrated. Will keep a few clowns, a pair of damsels and a pair of mandarins in there. Whatever else will be just for show.

I'm just to curious how the response is going to be, when I post my idea to use the overflow pipe for aquascaping.
For what reason will you do that, other than to hide it and how will it look?

The idea using the overflow pipe as the reef structure came, because of the holes that are already in the glass. The tank was actually devided into two tanks. I took out the divider and have now 4 holes in the glass. Which means that I'm using two holes for the return and one for the overflow. But which one? The one in the bottom pane or the one on the top right? Will see to get some more details by tomorrow.
Yes, I want to put corals in there, otherwise there is no use for lots of rockwork and the use of the metal halide. But I got all the equipment, so let's use it to the full potential.
But I'm having space issues in the cupboard. Not sure what kind of sump it's going to be.

The tank was actually planned to get fish to mate and to spawn. Not actually for breeding purposes. Therefore I leave the Banggai's.
Pushing the limits? I like doing that. I'm planning to introduce a pair of mandarins after the tank is running for two weeks. Stuff the story about matured tank and cycling it first. After introduction of the mandarins, they should start spawning within a month.

And when all spawn you will be on the right track for when all legislation is complete. I like that. Do you grow out your livestock or aim for mature animals?
My clownfish pair only spawn once a month. No succesfull larvae hatched. It will be their third time coming. My friends pair are spawning twice a month his are orange and mine are black. I do not know the history of my fish.

I saw this while you were offline. It is an awesome tank. I can not fully understand your passion for this hobby, it is as if you passion is on steroids haha - It is great!
