looking good buddy cant wait to see it with the lights on.. would recomend you look at 10 or 12k T5 tubes it will still award you the growth without compromising the colour.

yyou could always add some blue and actinic aswell to tewak the colours. believe me you will not loose growth if all other params are in check.

in a volume that size i would suggest a platform to pack rock onto for 2 reasons: A) to increase water volume (even though the drum is in place) B)to open up the back of the rockwork to flow to remove detritus..

going to be keeping an eye on this one..

thanks for all the positive comments guys and the constructive critcism it all elps alot:thumbup:,les obviously i shud make it out of egg crate?and how do i keep the structure together,cable ties? So the drum was a good idea?

haha yip tridan i am back in pe now thanks again for letting us see ur tank,so u rate i do that with my drum?

haha ninja everyone thinks bout fish i have another fish only with 2 anthias and a hennie and an auriga,some thought on adding these fish? obviously the fly aint a good idea! any fish you guys could recommend?
 
Dude if you dont put the anthias and hennie in i shot gun first lol!!!!!
Dout that you wont put them in tho they all hectic fish dude

ya fish are important man. I have family who can only keep bath water tanks and they complain at how much prettier marines are than bathwater fish, so its definite that we'll ask :) i think you can move you anthias over, the flys i'd keep in your FO, Fire gobies are good, infact come to think of it, there was a thread somewhere about what fish could be keep in smaller tanks, i think i'll dig it up right quick

Hi dale looking good so far! Just a word of advice with regards to what Leslie asked you - the stand wont be able to carry alot of weight with egg crate as its legs it will buckle and everything will collapse! worse if some poor tankmate is under ther thinking he is safe! You can build a 20mm pipe around the edges of your horizontal piece of egg crate (the flat piece where the rocks sit on) this will stabilize the stand from "whipping" and it will be advisable to put strong legs on that (I experimented with 40mm square trunking but didnt put the lids on them as legs) works like dream! will be waiting for progress on this thread and all the best with this new venture! ok shot chikaboo u dont have any pics of ur structure ?i built one once b4 but its so hard to hide,used 25mm pvc pipe.

well, i had a raccoon butterfly with all my softies and he never even looked at them twice. Depends on the individual, some are more prone than others to eating corals, so its a chance you take dude. its up to you
 
Dont worry about hiding it for now as time goes on it will hide itself with coraline and other growths! This is as I was setting up
