Dale's reef!

My tanks are only viewable from the front and I have a lot of BIG pieces of live rock so I even put against my side glass - I have lots of wrasses in my tank and they tend to move rocks around - if any falls then I know im at least I'm protected from the rock hitting three sides of the tank! Also when I get some more rock want to lean them against the three unviewable sides making like a huge "cave" view - If you lean rocks against glass it can cause stress on the glass and cause .... I dont want my fishies swimming for their lives on my lounge floor;)

haha oh ok i see, wudn u also b able to attach rocks with cable tie higher up on those pieces off crate if it was L shaped and ran under the sand aswell?

With this viewing angle it looks like I have alot of rock but its only a perception not true view! I can use less rock but get a "fuller" tank look - under my stands is plenty of roaming swimming space for the fish to play! And see all them when its food time nobodies hiding then! Also under the rocks I have 4 x 1800 ltrs/hr power heads running so that nothing builds up (food particles - detritus) that cause big big problems in the tank - rotting food :nono:

i will test him out once tanks up,was thinking of a long nose hawkfish but dont they eat shrimp?
Watch out for these dude - my hawkfish didnt even give my cleaner shrimp to reach the floor - One slurp as I put him in and the poor shrimp was halfway down the hawkfish's throat!

haha u c now in my opinion would rather have a shrimp,i was thinking along the lines of a coral beauty or potters angel, how many fish can i keep?

ya i also dont want detritus build up,gonna add 2 more sun suns, one q wat actually removes this detritus, the skimmer?

i'd go coral beauty (CB) man. they are gorgeous and hardy(ish) little buggers, i think potters are a bit fragile at times, and you cant go wrong with a good old CB if your parameters are right :)

The skimmer mechanically removes detritus, but its the water flow in the DT's job to pick the detritus up off the flow into the water column then over the overflow to the skimmer or scrubber. the skimmer would then remove the detritus before it gets a chance to decompose

ok i always thought filter floss did that but read u hav to replace it every 2 days,im keen on the coral beauty i had one for almost 2yrs b4 i sold my tank but its so hard to find small ones, any wrasse besides 6 line?

ten little ones in a 115 litre i think is possible, could be safer to go 8. i think if you want to stick with 5 go for it :) i just dont like snails. the are nasty little suckers and my hermits have character. you should see them out out of the rocks once they sense the squid i feed! then crab combat ensues for the piece that is clearly to big for any one of them and someone loses an arm or two:p they only really become a problem when they are too big and knock corals over or if they are hungry cause there is no food for them and they snack on softies
divided -bispartus wrasse?think thats it
no idea your the one asking :p
