Unfortunately I dont really have an update on my tank because I honestly have not added anything to it since the last update. We are very busy at work and I am travelling a lot. This is also the reason I have not added livestock as they would not be fed.

I have recently resolved this issue by getting an automatic feeder. I have had auto feeders in past but they are all crap and always overfeed, specially in small tanks. So I came across the Grasslin rondomatic 400. Its the only auto feeder of its kind and its brilliant. Always have to leave it up to the Germans :tt2: I had to import it and it was quite pricey but atleast I can get livestock now:thumbup:

I also added a decent power backup system. My UPS only lasted 2 hours and new batteries to last 12 hours would cost R1800. I found a 2.3KVA gennie at DIY Clearance warehouse for R1800. Its the only gennie of this size that I have seen with an electric start. So I tapped the ignition system with a few relays and a PLC to automatically start and stop the gennie.

Got a 1metre stainless pipe made to route the exhaust gasses outside. The gennie's exhause outlet just happened to be 22mm which fits a standard brass compression fitting perfectly

Hole in the wall for the exhaust pipe

Put an RC servo onto the choke to automate it.

Plug for the signals from the PLC

Electrical panel with PLC, Relays and Change over switches. This panel is also for our pool pump.:tt2:

ok....**** that, you need to call us and set one of those things up
we had a 12 hour power failure last week
my inverter cut out at 4 hours cause batteries already stuffed (1 year)
so pellet reactor stopped....and all hell broke loose

Bummer man! Lets make a deal. I need another Vortech MP10W Sooooo... Il organise you a Gennie and Controller for a good price and you organise me a Vortech for a good price. How does that sound? :tt2::thumbup:

My gennie has been in for about 2 months now and its already saved my tank. I came home late one day and the gennie was running with the fuel tank half empty! Turned out the power had been off since the morning +-10hours. Would never have known.

Tanks is going well hey! Been a bit neglected the passed few weeks, been away for work days at a time but it's a low maintenance tank :p It's been a pleasure from the start.

The oceanlife overflow has been really good. It's ridiculously quiet which is quite surprising. They claim that it can do 3500lph but reckon 2000lph is the limit. It can't handle my dc3000 return pump on setting 5 or 6. It doesn't bother me because I run on setting 2.

Here are a few pics a took with my phone this afternoon. The sun was setting so it's bit blue.:tt2:

Wow, your tank is amazing!

ITS ALIIIIVVVVEEE!!! lol.

Wow brent, tank is looking stunning! Was wondering what happened to this tank!
