Boyu TL-550 - Skimmer Upgrade

Hi there ... I think the buyo tl550 comes with a the buyo 308 skimmer. I upgraded mine to a 310 version, mmm, mixed feelings about the buy, but it does the job.
Do you have the 308 version skimmer in yours ?

I have moddified a TL550 to fit the reef octopus BH1000 skimmer on the rear , and it works great, this might be a cool option to look at if you plan on stocking the tank heavy.

Hello fellow TL550 owner...I just bought the very same skimmer for my TL550. How did you cut these slots at the back of the hood? Mind letting me know...not much of a DIY skilled

Hey... I've just bought a WG310 upgrade for my TL-550 at an incredible R140 incl. postage from ebay but i'm still keen on seeing how you modded your tank and what you did to it...

hi, i also have a bh 1000 i want to attach to my newly purchased tl550, awesome illustration , one question, how did u find it,do u still have it running/ any problems etc... @stevengrant

Hi, mine works excellently but opening the lid of the tank is a bit of a problem as the lid does not fully open. I thought of extending the pipes to make the skimmer a bit further from the tank but have never got round to it and it does not really bother me.
