Skimz Nano Tank Build

Those are good corals for a pico, as they are quite hardy.
Is there lighting the same?

Not hundred percent sure how bright they actually are but put them on yesterday and they pretty bright

this is what they say on the sepc's of the tank :

Low voltage, high intensity 21 LED light with moonlight

i had one of these little tanks and they hold approx 9lt at the correct water level..

i would personally suggest zoas, mushrooms and a shrimp display .. its too tiny for a fish unless you went with oceanops gobies for eg..

the lights are adequate for low light loving corals but supplementing with a short period of sunlight would be beneficial.. but not too long or the 9lt volume will heat up quickly.. i ran mine without a protein skimmer but i hear there are little ones available for these setups now.. i would use it to assist in oxygen delivery and have the small amount of waste pulled just be seen as an addd extra...

alot of potential here just got to find the correct inhabatants..

good luck with your project..

@leslie hempel : thank you very much for the advise ill def take it into consideration, i was looking at a yellow clown goby a couple of zoa shrooms and xenia for now busy building my landscaping but because its so small its taking sometime LOL

sounds good, a small frogspawn may also be something to look at but would have to be positioned in such a way as not to shade the underlying corals..

there was a awsome thread with pictures on pico's a while back.. if you search through some of them i am sure you will find it.. if i get a gap i will try look for you aswell..

Another idea is to keep some nice little inverts.
Maybe something like a boxing crab and some anemone shrimp.

Thats a nice nano

perfect nano fish will be neon goby

i think 50w is the smallest if im not mistaken, i dident run a heater in mine it was warm enough but i ran mine over summer... and sold it before winter hit... just be cautios of the water level dropping exposing the heater.....

HI so below picture is of the heater i got small and compact enough for the sump and enough to heat up water volume

nice work with the scaping, good idea to work on a template like that so you know it will fit the tank.

If you are using biorock i would suggest dosing the tank with some bacterial sollutions while you cycle it and i would let it cycle a long time so that the biologicaql filtration has enough time to establish and expand enough to maintain the tank. even though thats a small tank, with a planned light bioload you will need good biological filtration to overcome the lack of mechanical filtration in that tank.

another thing to think about with tank mates is that its an open tank, so fish that are inclined to jump are best avoided.

id suggest a display of some zoas, perhaps a few ricordia (if that lights strong enough) with a group of thor ambioensis and perhaps a pom pom crab.

@crispin ill take all tips into consideration any help is welcome when it comes to Marine tank setups so i greatfully thank you,The rock is old base rock i had from my previous 4ft which i broke up to make this build.Im looking at getting a yellow clown goby and one of the genltemen on the forum has graciously let me get some frags of his Zoa's ( at a price ) 9 diffent colors .... so its going to be mostly a Zoa garden looking tank.On this setup time will deffinatly be taken on this build have a couple of tricks (DIY) up my sleeve.
