Dosing Alkaline8.3-P advice needed

Hi All

Just a quick question for those that are useing the Brightwell Alkalin8.3-P PH buffer and KH builder, when you have mixed your solution do you just add it to the sump or should you drip it slowly, as on the bottle it does not tell you how to add it and have been to there web site aswell no luck there either.

I don,t think you must mix it, when you add make sure there is a lot of flow otherwise it doesn't do the job, i add mine in the return pump chamber.

No, and if you dose calsium as well do that after an hour or so. When adding both at the same time the one will cancel the other, some reaction takes place.

As far as I know u can mix and add brightwell additives together all at the same time, I will try and find a mail I got from him stating so. And it MUST be mixed with RO water first then added

By adding concentrated buffer straight to sump you run the risk of depositing 'hard stuff' (I think its called calcite) on the moving parts of pumps. I think its better to mix with r.o. and add slowly to fast flowing areas.

thats ture i mixed the brightwell mag in RO it has a huge exothermic reaction the water was like 50 degrees celcius in like 20 seconds
