Hi guys and gals

I'm in the planning stages of my new reef which will one day be sps dominated

Now I know there is a million different opinions and products out there but I just what'd to get an idea of what is the best brands and products that people have tried and tested.

I will have 4 dosing pumps

Thanks

No bud. Why have you bought or are going to buy a dosing pump when you have no idea what to dose. Don't just buy a bit of kit because it sounds good or is in fashion.

That said. Three part calcium is a good start along with Mg or Iodine.

I have ideas what to dose I just wanted to know what people are using with success and what products to stay away from.

I think that is a very difficult question to answer. I say this because there are alot of factors that will affect the reason for using certain products, for eg. price is going to be first on the list and then availiblity of pruducts will also play a big roll. Your LFS will also have its prefered product, and they will try and promote that product as best they can. I personally use Seachem's Aquavitro products as i believe them to be of the most stable and constant products out there, but that just might be my opinion. I have been using them for the last 10 months and have never gone wrong.

I agree with @Juan_R Aquavitro is the best on the market at the moment.

As for what to dose.
I would go with the basics first if you want add them on a dosing pump.
1. Calcium
2. Magnesium
3. Kh / Ph

But before you start dosing, check your levels.
The I would suggest go half of what they state on the bottle per volume of water and test again every 2nd or 3rd day to see how much your tank is using and adjust the volumes from there.

I have done this type of setup with the frag tank in the garage and the water on that system is rock solid stable.

The tank isn't set up yet but I was planning on using the red sea but it sounds like aquavirto is the way to go!

In the aquavitro range would calcification, fuel, ions and vibrance work together as I believe this covers everything and also I could dose these four.....with regards to how much I would like to dose every 12 hours to keep ass stable as possible so must I just test how much of everything gets used in 12 hours or is it better to have it every 24 or 48 cause I understand it would be quite hard to see the difference on the color chart

Thanks

Thanks

Aquavitro by far at the moment and nice thing about the product is you can dose most of the diffrent suplements within a couple of hours after one another .....

calcification must be dosed with 8.4 in a balanced fashion (these work together) or you will get horrible imbalances. Then ions and then fuel would be my choice.:)

I dose Seachem Two Part Calcium Alkalinity

Seachem fusion 1
Seachem fusion 2
Aqua vitro Fuel

It works for me on my 3 dose unit.

Hope its of some help for you

Go slow on the Fuel bud.
You gonna spike your water if you dose that stuff to much.
8.4 works well but check your Alk with that as it will keep Ph at 8,4 but raise your alk.

Thanks so much for all the help and tips every one

I will be using the calcification,8.4, ions and fuel together

I will be testing every thing on a daily basis when I start getting sps etc. and see how much my tank is using per a day

Thanks so much people

Really appreciate it
