The wife has seen the light and has agreed that this tank will not be good long term for Surgeons, so i have started dosing MB7 and vodka. This tank will be SPS dominated going forward. I am winning the war on the Algae outbreak at the moment as its getting brown and dieing thanks to feeding very little and running phos remover in a reactor water boy 2 in 1 (never underestimate the power of a reactor - marco i want discount for punting you:whistling:)
I have a yellow tang and a sailfin waiting to go in and after that wil start with stocking up on the SPS. What will be changed is a sump as i want to make it smaller so that i have more space for the dosing pumps and reactors.

I think that has been some of the most innovative scaping i have ever seen. Amazing man.
How do you keep them from falling over ?
What pipe did you use fir the return ?
And what is the function of the bucket at the end of the overflow ?

Thanks man

All the rocks are drilled with a acrylic plate at the bottom and the rocks are slotted in a solid plastic rod

Pipe is a black rubber pipe got from a pool shop very strong

The bucket is there to stop salt spray and also has some filter floss(i use the strong batting used in dress making) to collect dirt before it gets to skimmer. change it out once a week if not sooner

There will be no further fish added until i get a QT setup as my mate with the cube experienced a WS outbreak and seeing his fish like that made me realize the chances we take not QTing

Looks really super, and good on you for waiting for a QT tank. Wonderful decision, it certainly is worth it in the end.

After really seing 1st hand the effects of a white spot infestation there is no way i am risking my sanity and the health of my fish ever again. I would be too devastated if anything happened to these fish.

Hi, seen on another forum that you were intested in vodca dosing. Are you still doing it and if not, why did you decide against it, tried it and did not work? I am following Sonny's methods and want to try it next year. Any hints?

Hi Boegie
Vodka dosing is awesome if you want a low nutrient system, really keeps the water clean and allows ur skimmer to take out lots of dirt. I stopped because i am no longer going to be keeping sps corals as i do not have the time for them going into the new year.
If you are going to be dosing vodka make sure you have a good strong skimmer and follow all instructions to the tee. DO NOT OVERDOSE and ensure that you remain constant.

Tank looks good ZiyaadB, Have u planned to put some nice sand later, just my thought, would look very nice with sand bed.
Thanks, yes i am going to be putting some sand in. a fine crushed coral

Nice fishies Ziyaad, you need to find the time to go SPS. You know you want to;)
