if you choose to feed your skimmer via a pump,i suggest you use a flexi pipe(which i have done).this makes it easy to remove and strip and clean up your pump
 
will the protien skimmer help with green alge that is growing in the tank
 
Ask your nearest deal to send you the New improved shorter Impeller the other type makes a grinding noise like the impeller is hitting the casing side.

They have been having a lot of people complain about the noise. Also there is a new improved silencer unfortunately little loss in size of bubbles with the new silencer .
 
Who said that and where did you hear it from? I have the same problem with mine and it drives me nuts?

I rang the rep for the octopus dnw150 about the nosie and he was the one who told me and sent me the new shorter impeller and new silencer free of charge. I hope this helps.
