Ruan, sorry buddy but we can only accept photo's that you have taken yourself, if we use other peoples photo's without their permission then we have problems with copyright issues.:)

Nice pics Poiro, keep 'em coming.

Mille, thanks for the link, and I just know you are bursting to put up some pics ;)

Ja swaer, who you kidding... having seen some of your photos, I put you right up there with the other photo gurus

Hennie

WOW Hennie, those pics are great!! (I take it you have a thing for sweeper tentacles?)

Yup, my corals are all greedy eaters :whistling:

...but that's how they are in the ocean, and how they should be in our tanks. It's really a pity that so many hobbyists don't know this...

Hennie

No problem Luke ;)

AND THE WINNER IS ..... ROADBLOCK,

for every month of the year

Do the images have to be of our aquariums?
I do not have a tank at the moment, but some pics from my last visit to Ushaka that I would consider submitting.
Yeah let's see what you've got Ross.

Sorry guys, buts thats what happens when you have to stay at home and look after your sick daughter and then you borrow a friends camera..............lots and lots of pics ,and i couldn't decied which one to use so i posted all of them. And at least im trying hard........:)

Hi Gawiedj

I see you have a nikon d40, what lens is that you're using? The 70-300mm? Is that pic the whole pic or is it cropped?

Thanks, fish don't really co-operate with you much, so you're forced to increase ISO values and shutter speed which results in average photo's. But, every now and then I'm able to catch them off gaurd and get a nice pic or 2 :) Of course, some post editing also helps. If only I had time to edit all that algae in the background out :)

Hi Gawiedj

Rory I use the Sigma 70 - 300 DG Macro. It's not a true 1:1 macro lens but it gets the job done.
I did not crop any of the pics.

Hmmm I had the sigma lens (non APO one) with a canon mount. Went nikon though and sold it.
My 28-200mm nikon can do 1:3.2
If I buy sigma 70-300 APO it can do 1:2 (R2600)
If I buy sigma 105mm macro it can do 1:1 (R6600) - apparently basically equal to the canon 100mm macro
If I buy nikon 105mm VR it can do 1:1 (R10500)

Decisions decisions...

Yes or buy a third party chinese lens and get the same quality as Canon :p

That photo is showing some serious vignetting on the left...
