My clownfish pair only spawn once a month. No succesfull larvae hatched. It will be their third time coming. My friends pair are spawning twice a month his are orange and mine are black. I do not know the history of my fish.

Yep, that's the plan. Once the legislation is up to date (they are busy changing it) and once I got the permit for aquaculture, at least I will have broodstock that I can rely on from day one.
Clowns spawn twice a month. In the beginning some pairs don't know really what to do. Especially the males. They get pressured from the females. Also temperature differences can stop spawning activity and feeding habits as well. Some pairs will never get it right. Are your blacks completly black or does the smaller one still have a brown mouth?
