My clownfish pair only spawn once a month. No succesfull larvae hatched. It will be their third time coming. My friends pair are spawning twice a month his are orange and mine are black. I do not know the history of my fish.

Yep, that's the plan. Once the legislation is up to date (they are busy changing it) and once I got the permit for aquaculture, at least I will have broodstock that I can rely on from day one.

Clowns spawn twice a month. In the beginning some pairs don't know really what to do. Especially the males. They get pressured from the females. Also temperature differences can stop spawning activity and feeding habits as well. Some pairs will never get it right. Are your blacks completly black or does the smaller one still have a brown mouth?
 
Very cool cabinet idea. Looks awesome. So since you got all the equipment you need I assume this beauty will be full of water very soon

So what are you thinking of doing with the overflow

Thank you. But it will take some time until I can fill this tank.

I want the aquascaping to be perfect before I fill it. So now to the overflow.

Four holes in the tank. So I will use two for the return and the other two for the overflow, which is going to be more a water slide than a overflow.

Now the two T-piece are not connected to the overflow. I used the dremel to be able to push them over the pipes.
They will now support the overflow and also function as pillars. Need to get some dry reef rock. Then I drill holes in the rock and push them over the pillar pipes. Before I glue the overflow together, I also want to push some drilled rocks over the overflow pipe. The rest of the tubing I want to cover completely with rock. I don't want any pipe to be visible. Only the the "real" overflow with the slits willl probably be visible.

Thank you. Yes I have a refractometer.

It's always so easy to plan a new tank, especially when cash flow in not a problem. And in my case, it is!
But some good ideas come out of a situation. I don't want to spend a fortune on a new tank. So using what I have made me think on how to use it. No normal person would make such overflow. Count the fittings and check out the prices. I used the fittings I had. They were already glued to old tubing, which I don't use anymore. So I "cleaned" them out with a dremel. That's why I can afford such overflow.;)

I've decided to put just soft corals in there. Still no idea about filtration nor the sump design. Maybe I don't even put filtration into the sump. Just water. Not sure yet.

I also have a Aqua medic reefdoser with four pumps. But there is somewhere a single reef doser laying around. That one I will use.

Thanks Sean, but there seems to be a misunderstanding. That's why I edited my post.

There is a problem with cash flow, so I'm far away from being fortunate. :(
 
No problem. Sometimes it is better to have less cash to dump in our systems, and rather have more imagination to
create spectacular designs (like your overflow) and be more appreciative.
Anyone can have a "Bling Bling" system with all the bells and whistles showing, and not really appreciate the science behind a successful reef, or the blood, sweat and tears..... As for me, I am sticking to the basics..... No fancy stuff....

Now please go get some rock somewhere so we can see how this tank is gonna shape. I am sure it is going to be a masterpiece.
 
While @seank put down some wise words (and they really are), I finally managed to come up with a solution for my space problem. The overflow ends up in the sump right underneath where the water overflows.
After the water goes down through the whole tank, it goes down into the cabinet and then right through the whole sump. That happens when using all the crap that was in the garage. The skimmer, which is actually not a Berlin, rather a Aqua Medic, has to stand on the right side of the sump. If I would put skimmer and pumps to the left, I would have the pumps behind the skimmer. I so don't want that.
Take note that access to the sump will be from the back.

Of course it will be a masterpiece. I do have a masters degree. Haha, thinking of the overflow. Masters degree in plumbing. Coincedence?;)
