magnesium dosing assistance please

hi all my magnesium level is 960 , so i purchased seachem Aquavitro Ions
i dosed 25ml on friday an anothrr 25 ml on sat , was wondering sholud i continue with this dose every day until i reach 1250 .., any suggestions , or should i dose all at one time on the same day
just another question i came across this on the net , multiply calc by 3 to get your magnesium level
how can that be when my calcium is 400 and my magnesium is 960 all tested on the same day this was wednesday
your suggestions would be of great help thanks guys
 
Your magnesium level should be approximately 3 times your calcium level, ots a target not a set amount at which yours will be if your ca is 400 for example.
What is your water volume. If u use the inner cap iirc 7ml, you can dose up to 4 or 5 of them per 125litre, which will raise your mg by 25ppm. No problem in dising daily.
Ensure your kit is reliable though, as 900ppm sounds really low.
What salt mix are you using?
What is your alk?
How do you dose calcium?
 
Don't be scared of overdosing Mg, it won't crash ur tank, the seachem aquavitro products are all safe and even if you overdose it shouldnt be a problem, my Mg has sat at 1800before with no ill affects
 
seachem is quality products so good choice 1stly and yeah dose until desired level is reached then maintain
 
the correct averages are based on a minimum of 410 ppm calcium and are magnesium is 3 times calcium and kh is calcium level devided by a factor of 43. if you have this it is the foundation for successful reefkeeping.
