Lets see your top down pics

Thought I’d try revive this thread and hope to get some more people posting their Top Down shots.

Ag shame, they're all small :whistling:

Now THIS is what a coral should look like :p

... Just joking, of course... Those are some brilliant corals, Andrew - it's time I re-did my tank so I can add a few of yours.

holly jack potatoes, whos coral is that? i wont mind a frag of that, it wont make much of a difference to the colony

Unfortunately Euphyllias are difficult to ship - at least this specie is. The branches have numerous sharp protrusions on them, and they can puncture even a triple bag. Also, the polyps are soft and fleshy, and damage easily in transit.

I can float a small piece on Styrofoam if you're willing to take the risk, and if you can arrange for a courier to pick it up at my house. PM me if you're interested.

Just be warned, though - you will *really* have to supplement calcium, this coral just sucks it out of the water :)

Geez Hennie, I don't suppose you would have a rough estimation as to how many heads are on there?

No idea, but it measures about 500mm x 500mm AFTER I broke off a section of about 400mm x 300mm because it was encroaching on another coral's territory. I gave "frags" to just about everyone here in Bloemfontein, and Cybervic made off with two small "frags" of about 200mm x 150mm or so, with perhaps 20-30 heads on each...

I discovered this is not easy. My first attempt at doing it top down. Had a load of fun either way, and will give it a bash again sometime.

WOW Sean! AWESOME corals Man! Thanks for the pics! BTW: Did you "dunk the camera lense" to get these pics?

Holy smokes dude. Living on the coast has taught me that sea water is bad juju. Thanks for the compliment; But my technique does need modifying. I burnt bumped and banged my upper body trying to get under the hood to focus. As you can see i did not focus to well.
