I'm no LED expert, but that shounds expensive for 10 LEDs and 2 drivers.

CREE LEDs go for about $3 each.
Drivers is about $35 each.

Just buy the PAR38 LED units off general lamp.

I've had them running on 2 tanks for around 6 months and I've been very happy. Units cost about R750 a piece and are comparable to about 150w halide.

My current tank is 600 cube mix reef, all inhabitants including SPS are very happy. The genius of these bulbs? They use standard fittings, easy peasy DIY :)

Drop me a PM for specs to give to the supplier.

Oh and the LEDs are Cree 3w XP- E's if memory serves :)
 
..:(..the reason why I'm battling with LED's is the fact that I don't want to remove or modify my Hood..:(...what a :censored: mission to find LED's for my small Tank Hood...:cursing:..:dft004:

The only MOD I'm willing to do at the moment is remove backsplash...remove insides...cut the shape of the LED Unit and drop it thru my backsplash and mount backsplash again...:blush: I unfortunately love the clean and neat look of a "plug-in and play" Tank...much to the disgust of my 4yr old..:lol::lol:

They talk about the Strip Light as a Supplement Light..but won't one blue and one white actually be enough for the Boyu TL-450..? I'm looking at the 12"..roughly 30cm..right size and can be mounted on the inside...what do you think...Will admitt I still want the AquaRay..:p..but need to look at some back-ups... and 2 or even 3 strips don't sound to bad and it's not one big Unit, so I can buy one at a time and in doing so actually get the LED's...:p:p

I've got a friend in USA..thinking of getting a Unit for my 65 x 65 x probably 55 upgrade Tank...going thru the 24" lights on eBay...just posting Links as I go along...not really sure how to select T5's but saving my Links and then will read about the voltage..:p

also i would get them to change 2 white in the middle for UV and 2 blue for 1 red and 1 green
but thats still a guess from myside as i am still using T5
