JG's Boyu TL450

Want to check on the fans and clean inside the light. Almost got the rock. Gonna pic it up today or tomorrow. Thanks @Dexter

I know there are a lot of upgrades for this tank but after upgrading the skimmer and light then I could rather buy a 2nd hand 4in1 breeding tank.

If I remember correctly you lift the lid to vertical then it pulls up and out. Have a look on google there will be a million videos on the Boyu.

As for upgrades, welcome to marine aquariums! You will find there is always a newer, better faster etc upgrade available. I’d start with what you have and see how you go. Didn’t spend too much initially as you won’t get your money back on resale generally.
The Boyu is popular because it is a simple affordable starter option. Great to learn the ropes on. Maintenance is easier etc. spend the extra time you have from not having to do loads of maintenance reading up and planning your next tank. In a years time if everything’s going well and you can start building your dream tank.
Your dream tank will change the more you learn. Now you might want a LPS tank but in a few months you might decide sticks are more your thing.

Take things slow bud. Embrace that boyu and try to experiment with it until you reach a level of stability that you can maintain. You can honestly still do so much on that tank. Start adding some easy to keep Coral and see if you can keep them happy. You can also do allot to make that tank run on autopilot. Upgrade the skimmer, get an ATO and maybe run a nano algea scrubber.

Ok thankyou for the info. To be honest I am not really into coral. Only want a few blue polyps and a euphylla thing, almost like an anenome. I don't even know what LPS, SPS and softies is... lol

Can I keep 5 polyps head with this 18w light?

Google, google and then once you think you have googled enough do it one more time
Well I think I might not try that again. Cause then my phone got taken after downloading and watching 71 videos. So I am on my pc now. We do home schooling.

My first idea was to try breed clownfish to save up for a dirt bike. So when I upgrade I am gonna buy 2 tanks that is 45 litres each and a sump with a skimmer some rock and the return pump.

Clownfish breeding is very competitive. There are guys in SA pumping out large batches every couple of months, so much that the pet stores buy from them. Not to discourage you. But I highly doubt you will make significant profits to get yourself a bike. If you really want to invest in clowfish breeding for profit, you need the proper equipment as well. A simple setup won’t suffice. To be able to care for the young, you need crazy levels of experience and a proper breeding setup. TAKE YOUR TIME. Learn and progress slowly. Nothing good comes out of the hobby when you rush.

Euphyllia is a coral and that shows that maybe reading a bit more and taking your time is a good option. One thing you will learn either yj e easy way or the hard way is that a marine tank is all about patience. There's no rush...

Yeah no rush this side. Still only have the return pump on only. Tank will be finished by November hopefully if I have money to buy the things. Ran out

BTW I know it is a coral LOL

And then just when you think you can breed clowns for profit. The clever people come knocking at your door and lock you up. Dont know if that is still the case, but from what i can remember you cant breed clowns as your primary income.

Lock me up. Ai jai jai. What are you talking about.... why will they lock me up. Is it illegal?

From what i can remember it is illegal to breed clowns as your primary income source. Just search on masa here. Somewere is a thread of a guy that got locked up.

Bit of a old thread...not sure if the laws changed

You can breed/sell clowns. That case was basically just the authorities not knowing their own laws. Things have changed since that happened

Ok so just to make sure. I can breed, hatch and sell clownfish from our house?
