JG's Boyu TL450

One thing that is cool is to see youngsters getting involved in the hobby. Soon we will see a post from him that he needs a bigger tank.
110% it's awesome!

Nothing changes though. You get married and then your wife starts slapping you over the head for Messing salt water on the floor :m23:

When i just started out in the hobby....I cant remember how many times i flooded the dining room. Its just one of those things that do happen

Yeah I know that one. Cleaning the filter in the bathroom and left it dirty...

Already thinking of upgrading and this tank is not even up and running... LOL
Maybe a breeding setup

Yip

So the electricity is off now. What will happen to my tank. It has been standing for a day and nothing happened.

Electricity is a marine tank worse nightmare. When you start to add livestock the whole game changes. Without electricity oxygen gets dipleted. Without oxygen everything dies. To put it simple.

How do I get oxygen in my tank? From freshwater the bubbles is oxygen. My tank has no bubbles. Where is the oxygen supposed to come from?

Return pump is fine as long as the temp stays withing acceptable range. In winter its a challange because then you need to worry about the heater aswell. So investing in some sort of backup is always a good idea. Oxygen comes from water movement. Before i had a backup solution i used a normal battery operated airpump. SImple but effective.

Do any of you know what type of coral I can keep in here. Saw some very nice polyps frags that nic has. Can I keep them in here. Light Bulb=18w

This hobby is 90% research 10% enjoying your setup.

I would recommend you start reading and researching beginner corals and how to keep them alive.
Check out this channel on youtube especially his older videos there is a lot of great tips

Yeah I know pretty much about coral [the names and how they look what they eat etc.]. But think that coral will work in there

TL450 is a great starter. I had one when I started. Is that the LED model? Mine was the CFL and mushrooms and Xenia were fine, zoa struggled a bit more. If I recall getting rid of the bioballs is generally recommended, nitrate factories. Gives you some space for other chemical filtration purigen, phosguard etc.
The standard skimmer is a bit of a pain and generally not considered to be the greatest but is better than nothing.
I moved from the TL to a Lido 120 that I had drilled and sumped and now onto a Akwa elegnace 300L. Boyu was good to learn with though getting used to water changes etc. Being small though things can change quickly but from experience you can keep things in control nicely if you do your 10% water changes weekly.

That is why I want to go bigger. Wanted to start with 30l but if it goes bad all goes bad. Bigger tanks you get hit but not that hard and then you have better equipment

Bigger is nice but with it comes increase costs. Better lights , skimmer, return, larger water changes etc
