How to connect my skimmer correctly

Epoxy will work aswell as Tangit PVC glue.Worked on my DNW 300 when the inlet connection broke off.

I used superglue when I broke the neck off my skimmer cup, works 100%.

I used the pratley quickset clear. I reckon its fixed will hopefully test it out this afternoon.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

Falcon, i am JHB south.

Okay so i finally connected the skimmer. It is higher then the sump.

Water level is a little below the neck, about halfway up the label. Nothing in the tank at the moment, just water (added the realocean salt too).

I am not producing any skimmate. Lots of bubbles in the skimmer, but no foam.

Any ideas what i am doing wrong? Or is this a symptom of the skimmer being broken?

How long you been skimming for, and is there no bioload in your tank ?

Need to check this with the gurus, but I would think that you may have a problem creating bubbles when there is no shit in the water.

Please check with the other guys to verify

The skimmer usually takes about 3-4 days to break in and then start foaming.
Keep the water level half way up the neck.

I have increased the water level, its looking a lot better now. Some good foam.

Since there is no bioload, i doubt we will be able to get a thick dark skimmate, but lets see how it progresses.

I have a huge bioload and I don't get dark skimmate

Once your tank is stocked well, you will get decent (dark brown) skimmate.

Rather strange Warr, ive got a TS1 in a container with a few pieces of LR and im surprised with the colour of the skimmate i got, its dark brown.
Maybe your skimmer is'nt skimming dark because your water level is too high up the neck, therefore you are skimming wet and causing light skimmate.

Doesn't mater here i skum, it is green

If it is skimming green He should also have a algae problem. A correctly setup skimmer will produce brown skimmate, even at a low bio load, just less then.

I have done ever mod available, I probably have an algae problem but I can't see.

Never had a days brown skimmate, maybe a kak skimmer
