To feed Brine shrimp and I collect plankton to feed my fish and corals, would like to feed this for curious sake to see what grows? What exactly do you need the culture for?
Yeah cool Sagar, will go look for it!Marcel, the luckyfish had started a thread on it! He can help u!

here's it! I think, that's it. He explains it well!
How are the fish bro?
Luckyfish, will it work if I use water from my display. My water is all from salt mix. No natural sea water ever. I do have some hairy algae on the back glass. So in my opinion, I have to hope on algae spores that originally came with the live rock. If the LR is already 2 years in the tank, will I still be successful in creating green water. Or is the extra time needed not worthwhile and should I rather try to get a started culture.
Great thanks Luckyfish,Yes Sagar, I explained how to grow phytoplankton if you got a startculture.
If you don't have a start culture, then you use seawater from the ocean or your display tank. Raise the salinity up to 1.040 with adding salt. Keep it aerated and in movement with air bubbles from an open airline without airstone. The high salinity will kill all the zooplankton, but not the algae. I know, you can't see algae in the water, but it is there.
After a few days you can dilute the new culture with RO water and bring the salinity back down to normal. Lots of light, 24/7 is required and some fertilizer.
There was a post in my thread about some bonsai plant food which was working okay.
It will take some time to grow a culture from clear water, but it will work.
You will grow algae, but you will never know, which algae. For your purposes, it really does not matter.
Great thanks Luckyfish,
I'll just have to buy some salt to raise my sea waters S.G.
That's pretty interesting, daddyYes Sagar, I explained how to grow phytoplankton if you got a startculture.
