Geordie New Build

aHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH or for my new language...............EEEEiiiiiiiiiiiisssssshhhhhhhh.

Got a leak in the sump area............and haven't a clue where it's coming from.

Had a small spill , my fault, whilst topping up 3 weeks ago and found 100ml of water in the sump area 1 week later.

Cleaned it all up and it's been ok. Thought that was the cause.

Looked tonight 2 weeks later................. about 100ml again.

So the only option I could think of was to put papertowel rolled up into tubes beside where I think it may be weeping....... Which one will get wet first?

I think it's either the RO tank or maybe the sump tank itself..... Hope it's the ro tank as I don't fancy taking my dsb apart to silicone the joints.

All the pipework os sound.............. even tasted the water on the tip of my tongue to see if it was RO ....... forgot to wash my hands first.................... so it was salty.

No further forward with that clever idea...... and yea I know I shouldn't have but hey desperate times.

Not even the slightest sign of salt creep either......

hehe, gotta love fish tanks ;)
LOL........

I'll get this sorted if it kills me...................Lol mind you with 350g above my head when working in the sump area it just might.......!!!

Thankfully it's not the tank..... I took the precaution of sealing the cabinet before I sited the tank so any leaks had to appear on the front ledge..... and it's clear.

bugger dude, hope u find it and that its nothing major. holding thumbs, let us know what happens

I've only got one thumb left to hold.........;)

Typical................ came down this morning to find nothing..... Bone dry.

So the wait is on.

Looking really good Geordie!! Leaks are kak. Had one myself and it kinda just fixed itself after a while.

The paper towels are still dry...................... strange!

But I'm not complaining

have you checked all the connections to your pumps CArx etc...

Checked everything three times, even dried up the water and lay on the floor for 2 1/2 hrs with my head in the sump area last night watching and finger testing............... not a drop to be seen, Not even salt creep.

Can't walk past the tank without looking into the rear of the sump........:(

I'll find it ...... may just take a while. Even got the buckets and silicone gun sitting ready.

My local fish shop owner has very kindly offered to look for a new addition for me this week.
